Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled “The Characteristics of an Ideal Medical Representative” presented by both Dr. Nawar Mikhael Toma, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutics, and Dr. Reem Polus Sada, who was hosted to share her expertise in pharmaceutical marketing and the training of pharmacists in this field. The workshop covered several topics, including the requirements of working in pharmaceutical marketing, how to write a CV that highlights the applicant’s capabilities and skills, and how to conduct successful interviews with employers. A practical application was conducted for students to practice interview skills. The workshop also addressed how medical representatives interact with doctors during visits, emphasizing communication and persuasion skills necessary for those who want to enter the field of pharmaceutical marketing. The workshop received active participation from students, evident through their contributions and questions, which enriched the workshop with valuable information and insights. This workshop is part of a series of activities organized by the Dean of our college and the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, aiming to provide students with practical knowledge and prepare competent pharmacists capable of engaging in various pharmaceutical fields.
