Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuous Education Unit and the Employment and Development Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an online workshop entitled “Decision-making aspects,” delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zena Munther Ahmed, a faculty member at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The workshop aimed to determine the importance of decision-making, how to make decisions, and knowing the process to evaluate them. This workshop included several topics, including the definition of decision-making, finding alternatives, analyzing important data, proposing solutions, searching for available alternatives, and reaching for solutions. Furthermore, the workshop involved the evaluation and analysis of each alternative, as well as an understanding of its potential consequences. The workshop concluded that decision-making is one of the most important aspects in the educational sector. Also, this topic is pivotal, especially in the business sector and for industries. Wrong decisions can lead to the worst results and failure of institutes. Therefore, staff members responsible for decision-making must be trained extensively, gain knowledge of all steps, and make it part of the behavior. There are basic elements that must be taken into consideration in the decision-making experience; this includes the complicated reality due to the large selection of options that affects decision-making.
