A number of our esteemed faculty members, headed by the honorable Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Alkhateeb, along with Associate Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Kinani, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics, Associate Professor Dr. Ali Azeez Ali, Associate Professor Dr. Ali Jabbar, and Lecturer Dr. Muthanna Saadi Al-Tai, participated in the REACH Conference within the proceedings of HEALTH EXPO IRAQ at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds. The participation included two sessions; the first was chaired by the honorable head of the Syndicate of Iraqi Pharmacists, Dr. Haidar Fouad Al-Sayegh, and the second was chaired by the honorable Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Alkhateeb.The first dialogue session highlighted the importance of collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Health and other entities concerned with providing medical and health care to Iraqi citizens. The Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate concluded his speech by thanking all Iraqi pharmacists for their significant and essential role in healthcare for Iraqi citizens, as they provide their pharmaceutical services to their people. The second dialogue session was chaired by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Alkhateeb, and he was joined by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Mustansiriyah University, Professor Dr. Munther Faisal Al-Amiri. This session focused on the pharmaceutical industries in Iraq and what they are witnessing in terms of progress and localization under the direct supervision and interest of the Prime Minister’s Office, and the importance of collaboration between the academic institution—leveraging its great scientific expertise and capabilities—and specialists in the pharmaceutical industry to achieve integration and serve the community. Alkhateeb concluded the session by emphasizing the importance of holding multiple dialogue sessions between both sides to activate cooperation between academic institutions and labor market representatives to achieve mutual goals that ensure the integration of interests.
