Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled “Communication Skills and Public Relations” delivered by Associate Lecturer Lecturer Zahraa Abdalamir Ketan, from the Human Resources Department. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of communication, its elements, and the factors that affect the communication process with others. It also aimed to familiarize individuals with the basic skills necessary to build successful relationships with others, in order to gain their trust and support, whether in the workplace or within the family. The workshop included several topics, including: communication skills, relationship-building skills, active listening, building relationships and trust, communication and relationship building, and successful networking. Participants were given the opportunity to discover and apply many talents before returning to their work. Additionally, the workshop helped raise awareness of the impact of key relationships in enhancing professional and personal bonds, as well as how to open communication channels and accelerate the flow of information within an organization, gain the support of others, and achieve desired goals and outcomes. The workshop concluded that acquiring and developing communication and public relations skills forms a solid foundation for building relationships and communicating with others effectively. These skills contribute to organizing, analyzing, and conveying ideas, ultimately leading to the development of successful and purposeful relationships.
