The College of Pharmacy’s journal at the University of Baghdad (Iraqi Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences) won first place in one of the Iraqi Science Day awards for the year 2022-2023, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Award for Distinguished Scientific Journal). It is noteworthy that our journal was included in the Scopus database in 2018, as a leading journal with a strong scientific history. The journal was established in 1979 as a semi-annual scientific journal dedicated to publishing research related to pharmaceutical and medical sciences. In response to the increasing volume of submissions, the journal increased its frequency from two issues per year to four, in order to accommodate more research and to publish at a faster pace. We will continue to pursue carefully planned and steady steps as part of a strategy set by the College’s administration to further develop the journal and improve its ranking in global databases, while maintaining the relevance of its findings and keeping up with rapid scientific advancements. The journal welcomes the submission of scientific research within its field of specialization from both domestic and international researchers.
