Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, and in the presence of the Dean Assistants, Prof. Dr. Munaf H. Abdul Razzaq and Assist. Prof. Dr. Shihab Hattab Mutlaq, along with a number of esteemed heads of scientific departments and faculty members, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Media and Public Relations Division, held a ceremony to welcome the first-stage students for the academic year 2024-2025. The event took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in the Al-Antaki Hall in the college. The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and the reading of Al-Fatiha for the souls of our martyrs. The event proceeded with a welcome speech to the students and a greeting to the attendees by the Head of the Media and Public Relations Division, Ms. Mais Fadhel Mohammed, along with an introductory video about the college. The Dean of the College then delivered a speech welcoming the new students, congratulating them on the start of the new academic year, and wishing them continued success. He emphasized the importance of academic excellence and adherence to university life rules, focusing on knowledge, skills, and behavior. The Dean Assistants for Scientific and Student Affairs also introduced the students to their rights and duties, emphasizing the importance of attending classes and adhering to the college regulations. He wished them a successful academic year. The ceremony included a series of educational and awareness lectures on various topics, such as “A Glimpse into the History of Pharmacy in Mesopotamia,” “Introduction to the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit and University Life,” and “University Campus Rules and Student Behavior.” These lectures were delivered by Dr. Lubna Abdul Karim, the Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, along with other unit members. The ceremony concluded with a student competition, followed by giving multiple prizes to the winners.
