As part of the collaboration between the Ministries of Health and Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq, a team from the Antimicrobial Resistance Department at the Baghdad Health Directorate / Rusafa, in cooperation with the Health Promotion Department and the Health Promotion Unit in the Rusafa sector, visited our college. The goal of the visit was to raise awareness among the college students about antimicrobial drug resistance, coinciding with the Global Awareness Week. The visit included individual awareness sessions and the distribution of health messages and brochures regarding the importance of antibiotics and their optimal and rational use. It is important to note that some of the major complications caused by antimicrobial resistance include difficulty in treating infections, prolonged illness, increased medical costs, limited treatment options, and the risk of long-term complications. The visit was conducted by pharmacist Lubna Zuhair Abdul Karim and Pharmacist Hanin Abdul Hakim, who are the Head and Head assistant of the Antimicrobial Resistance Department.
