Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held an in-person workshop entitled “Etiquette and Behavior in University Life” delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zena Munther Ahmed, a faculty member in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The seminar aimed to introduce first-stage students to the concept of etiquette and behavior in university life, and its impact on social and professional relationships. It also focused on developing effective communication skills and teaching students how to communicate effectively with others, whether with professors or peers. The seminar also covered how to enhance professional behavior by acting with professionalism in the university environment, how to handle various situations such as stress, conflicts, or bullying, and how to build self-confidence through good behavior and positive interactions. It taught students how to interact with diverse cultures and backgrounds in the university setting. Additionally, the seminar discussed daily etiquette practices, such as greeting others appropriately, using good language and tact, taking care of personal appearance, and adhering to university rules. In conclusion, the seminar emphasized the importance of applying etiquette and good behavior on a daily basis to enhance cultural and social awareness among students and develop social communication skills to be more impactful.
