We congratulate our college, the College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad, under the esteemed leadership of its Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, for achieving full, unconditional accreditation for a period of five years. This makes it the first pharmacy college to receive national programmatic accreditation among all pharmacy colleges in Iraq. This achievement is the result of the combined efforts of the college’s administration, faculty members, staff, and students, under the supervision of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, led by Dr. Kawther Khalid Al-Joudi and her team, as well as all members of the college’s accreditation committees. We congratulate them all on this accomplishment. It is worth mentioning that this achievement was the outcome of a series of plans and tasks, and we were granted the accreditation following a site visit by the National Accreditation Team from the National Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Colleges (NCAPC), as part of the requirements for granting the national programmatic accreditation to the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad.On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the activities of the National Evaluators Team of the NCAPC concluded as part of the requirements for obtaining national programmatic accreditation. The visit lasted four days and extended into late hours. The evaluation was supervised by three members of the NCAPC. The visit included meetings with department heads and administrative and scientific units within the college, extensive discussions with students, faculty, and staff, as well as inspections of various facilities within the college, including classrooms, scientific laboratories, the sports hall, and playgrounds. Additionally, numerous surveys and opinion polls were conducted regarding the academic program and the services provided by the college across its different sections, along with feedback from stakeholders regarding the outcomes of the college’s academic program. Multiple meetings were held with the committees responsible for accreditation, and all files were thoroughly reviewed. The visit concluded with a meeting with the Dean, where a comprehensive report on the visit was presented. The team expressed its gratitude for the high level of cooperation provided by the college, represented by its administration, staff, and students, which facilitated the work of the National Evaluators Team. In turn, the Dean praised the efforts of the team members and the supervisors from the NCAPC, appreciating their dedication and professionalism in carrying out their tasks. He assured that all the observations they provided would be taken into account, emphasizing that the goal is shared between the college administration and the council to enhance the educational process in all its aspects, ensuring the quality of its outcomes and maximizing benefits for stakeholders and the job market.
