Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Al-Khateeb, Psychological counseling, educational guidance, in cooperation with the Continuing Education and Avicenna Units at the College of Pharmacy / University of Baghdad, held an electronic workshop entitled (Smoking: its types, harms and risks… and how to quit and prevent it) which was delivered by the lecturer (Azhar Mahdi Jasim) in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. The lecture aimed at educating the attendees, including students and faculty, about the dangers of smoking and passive smoking. The lecture included various topics such as information about tobacco, nicotine, types of smoking, the harms and risks of smoking, passive smoking, and methods of quitting and preventing smoking. The lecture was discussed the definition of smoking and passive smoking and the risks that it they cause to the health, psychological and economic status of the smoker and those around him. The lecture also showed how to develop strategies related to quitting smoking and indicated at the end of the lecture that smoking prevention is the best solution to avoid all problems related to it.
