The College of Pharmacy organizes a scientific workshop titled “Evaluation of the Quality of Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms Using Texture Analyzers.” Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr.Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit in the College of Pharmacy and the University of Baghdad held a scientific workshop given by Lecturer Dr. Lubna Sabri and Assistant Professor Omar Saeb faculty members in the Pharmaceutics Department on “Evaluation of the quality of pharmaceutical dosage forms using texture analyzers”. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the applications of texture analyzers in the pharmaceutical industry. Texture analysis plays a crucial role in evaluating the physical properties and quality attributes of various solid and semi-solid formulations, such as tablets, ointments, creams, and gels. The workshop covered topics such as the importance of texture analysis in assessing parameters like hardness, cohesiveness, and adhesiveness of dosage forms. Participants learned about the software of the texture analyzer by performing a study on a dosage form and analyzing the data. Attending this workshop, participants gained valuable insights into the practical applications of texture analyzers in pharmaceutical research and development.
