Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar on Organic Chemistry Software System presented by Lecturer Dr. Sarah Sattar Jabbar, a faculty member at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. The seminar aimed to introduce the Organic Chemistry Software System, as organic chemistry software has become indispensable in modern research, offering a wide range of tools for molecular modeling, simulation, analysis, and prediction. The seminar included a review to explore the landscape of organic chemistry software by categorizing them based on their functionalities and discussing their evolution, key features, and applications. The categories include chemical databases, molecular modeling software, chemical structure drawing and visualization tools, chemical property prediction software, virtual screening and drug design tools, and chemical reaction prediction software. By systematically examining these tools, researchers gain insights into their capabilities and contributions to research and innovation in the field of organic chemistry.
