Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, organized a lecture entitled “Student Absenteeism from Lectures: Causes and Solutions,” delivered by the Lecturer Dr. Nawar Mikhael, a faculty member at the Pharmaceutics Department. The lecture aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of university students’ reluctance to attend theoretical lectures and the potential psychological implications for the students’ well-being. The lecture covered several topics, including the importance of university life, reasons for student absenteeism from lectures, and proposed solutions to this phenomenon. Discussions and contributions from present lecturers and students were included during the seminar. The lecture concluded by emphasizing the importance of attending lectures for the benefits it provides, such as acquiring knowledge, developing the ability to engage in discussions and sound scientific analysis, and building a well-rounded personality capable of serving both the individual and society.
