Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Continuous Education Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled “Illegal Immigration,” delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zena M. Ahmed, a faculty member at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The workshop aimed to discuss the causes, point out the responses of the legal authorities, and diagnose the consequences for Iraqi society. Finally, analyze the suggested solutions. The workshop included several topics. It started with an introduction, then an open discussion, and then illustrated the causes of illegal immigration. Finally, there are solutions to prevent and solve this issue. The workshop concluded that the issue of illegal immigration has been going through a noticeable rise throughout the past few years. We understand that those immigrants don’t prefer to leave their origin countries, as leaving their homes and countries comes with an expensive price and consequences. It is inevitable that the major loss will come to the countries that lose their resources, which are mostly from the youth. Therefore, planning and conducting actions are required to prevent this ordeal.
