Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, a group of faculty members from the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department together with the Student Activities Unit, organized a scientific visit for postgraduate students to the National Center for Pharmaceutical Control and Research. The visit aims to enable the students to learn about the center’s work mechanisms, methods for detecting pharmaceutical substances, to know their concentrations and the devices used for that, and match that with what they have studied theoretically to reach the ultimate goal of the college, which is to prepare competent and trained pharmacists to work in various fields to serve the public interest. The students showed their interaction through the discussions and questions that were asked.The visit included providing a detailed explanation about the center’s working mechanism and how to deal with examining medicines and pharmaceutical preparations and matching them with their labels in accordance with the international pharmacopoeia and specialized scientific references. The center’s specialized work team also contributed by introducing the students to the most important tests and devices used to detect that medicines conform to international standards. The students showed their interaction through the discussions and questions that were asked.
