The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the master’s thesis tagged” Formulation and Characterization of Rivaroxaban Lyophilized Nanoparticles as Oral Dosage Form ” by Mohammed Majeed Hachem and his supervisor, Professor Dr. Shaimaa Nazar Abdul-Hameed in the Pharmaceutics Department. The thesis aimed to formulate and characterize rivaroxaban nanosuspension to improve the solubility and dissolution rate of poorly soluble Rivaroxaban (anticoagulant).  Thesis topics include the formulation of polymeric nanoparticles by using different types of polymers and various affecting like concentration and speed ; lyophilized by using a lyophilizer machine ;putting in the capsule and giving orally; and studying the effect of storage conditions at different temperatures.  The results proved that the preparation of rivaroxaban as nanoparticles by the anti-solvent deposition technique and then loading it as a liquid nanoscale suspension and lyophilizing it makes an effective, practical, and stable mouth dreamer. Therefore, it is a better way to install it and keep it at the size of a long time for nano and overcome the main disadvantage of nanoparticles, namely that they are related to aggregation and form voluminous particle sizes over time.
