Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled “The writing process” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Fadya Yaqoob Al-Hamadani, a faculty member at the Clinical Pharmacy Department. The workshop aimed to shed the lights on the academic writing and give several hints which might help the researchers and postgraduate students. The workshop included several topics, such as: the purpose of academic writing, avoiding plagiarism, paraphrasing, references and citations, paragraph organization, presentation, rewriting, and revision. The workshop concluded that there are many key elements which should be considered to have an effective academic writing, emphasizing clarity, precision, and evidence-based arguments. It examined strategies for developing strong academic piece of work, conducting thorough research, and integrating sources effectively. This could be improved through practice and thorough reading.
