The College of Pharmacy organized a protest rally in support of our brothers in Lebanon on the morning of Wednesday, 25/09/2024, in response to the directives of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammad Shia’ al-Sudani, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Yaser al-Aboudi. Many faculty members and students participated in this rally, gathering on the college field to express their rejection and condemnation of the attack on our brothers in Lebanon. Lebanese flags and symbolic banners were raised to denounce this brutal assault. One of the students delivered a symbolic speech condemning the inhuman practices carried out by the enemy against our brothers in Lebanon, which is a humanitarian disaster on various levels. This initiative is part of our college’s ongoing approach to support humanitarian causes in all moral or material ways, and it reflects the noble stance of the faculty members and students, showing their constant readiness for what is best. The rally concluded with a speech by the Dean of the College, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, who praised the consistent stance of the professors and students in these humanitarian events and occasions. He also encouraged them to make financial donations, in addition to their moral support. A fundraising campaign was held alongside the rally, supervised and organized by the Volunteer Work Support Committee. The proceeds went to our brothers in Lebanon through an Iraqi institution that supports such humanitarian campaigns to stand by our brothers in the Arab countries.
