Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar entitled “Role of Conacarpus erectus Leaves Extract in Treatment of Hypothyroidism,” delivered by Lecturer Mahmood K. Salih, a PhD student at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about hypothyroidism and its diagnosis and treatment, and highlighted the traditional uses of Conocarpus ertecus leaves extract. The seminar included several topics, including discussing the symptoms, diagnostic methods, and available treatment options for hypothyroidism. The seminar also provided insights into the Conocarpus ertecus leaves extract and its plantation, regions of cultivation, and its medicinal properties. Additionally, the seminar explored the folkloric applications of Conocarpus erectus leaves extract in managing hypothyroidism. The seminar concluded by emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about hypothyroidism and providing educational benefits to the attendees, promoting the potential role of Conocarpus erectus in medical applications.
