The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the Master Degree thesis tagged” Association of some serum Biochemical markers (Serotonin, Leptin, Ghrelin and Glucose) with Anosmia and Ageusia in Iraqi patients with Covid-19 “by Sameerah Jasim Shanyoor and the Lec. Dr. Zahraa Mohammmed Ali in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The aim of the study was to investigate the role of blood parameters (serotonin, leptin and ghrelin) by estimating their concentration to clarify their role in anosmia and ageusia that were present in patients with covid-19 infection, by comparing their levels in individuals with and without anosmia and ageusia, with healthy control subjects in addition to study the relation with blood glucose levels. The concept of the thesis is that blood serum levels of (serotonin, leptin, and ghrelin) were estimated in addition to serum levels of fasting blood glucose in each participant. all of them with P-value was equal to (<0.001) where its highly significant difference between group 1 compare with group 2 &3, while there was no significant difference between group 2 and group 3 in all studied parameter. serum levels of glucose showed a highly significant positive correlation with serum levels of leptin where (p<0.001). while, serum levels of glucose showed a significant negative correlation with serum levels of serotonin and ghrelin where (p<0.001).
