Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar entitled “Indicators of Cell Viability and Cytotoxicity,” delivered by Pharmacist Imad Muneeb Malik, the PhD student at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. The seminar aimed to present the methods used in the biological evaluation of compounds synthesized as anticancer. The seminar included several topics, including explaining cell cycle assays, metabolic activity assays, apoptosis assays, and cell membrane integrity assays. The seminar concluded that the biological evaluation of the synthesized compounds should be performed using modern, accurate methods.
