According to the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the presidency of the University of Baghdad, to expand green spaces within and outside the university to preserve the environment, the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad organized a voluntary campaign to plant the college gardens under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, with the participation of the Dean Assistants and a group of faculty members and students of our college, in coordination with the Support Committee for Volunteerism and the Agricultural Unit in the college.   This campaign aimed to increase green spaces and environmental care at the University of Baghdad, coinciding with National Afforestation Day on Wednesday, March 19th.  The campaign included planting many flowers and evergreen shrubs, including Acacia, Bougainvillea, Lover’s Blood, Damask Rose, Citrus Shrubs, Cazzania, Beauty Rose Shrubs, Dodonia, and others. The aim of the voluntary campaign was to enhance the aesthetic and environmental aspects of the college, promote a culture of planting, and support the major reconstruction campaign underway at the college under the direct supervision of our ministry and university.
