Environment and sustainability

The Deanship of the College of Pharmacy / University of Baghdad was keen on establishing and supporting a healthy environment that serves our students, staff and faculty while serving sustainable development goals. At a time when pollutants are spreading widely as a result of the acceleration of modern life, we believe that green spaces are the best way to get rid of the damage of this waste. The agricultural unit in the University of Baghdad College of Pharmacy has established a campaign to renovate the green spaces in the college. This campaign is part of the deanship’s continuing efforts to preserve the environment and increase the green spaces in the college’s vicinity. This campaign has different aspects as it transforms the green spaces to a beautiful relaxing environment to be used by the students and staff. It also promotes voluntary work which is pivotal component of the culture at the University if Baghdad College of Pharmacy. These endeavors come within the college’s efforts to work towards achieving the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, as afforestation campaigns and supporting green spaces contribute to achieving Goal 13 (SDG 13), which includes climate support, as well as Goal 11 (SDG 11) in achieving sustainable societies through the provision and development of green spaces.
